Hex – a legend of Slovak popular music at Pohoda 2026
Unforgettable musical stories will once again meet at Trenčín Airport this year. Among the confirmed names for the 30th anniversary edition of Pohoda is the legendary Slovak band Hex, who have been one of the pillars of our music scene for more than three decades. At Trenčín Airport, we will once again sing along to their hits that have found their way to fans across generations – Maťo a Linda, V piatok podvečer, Vetroň, Nikdy nebolo lepšie, Život, and Keď sme sami.

Hex were formed at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s, and their music has since become an integral part of Slovak musical culture. The band was founded by Peter “Ďuďo” Dudák (vocals, guitar), Tomáš “Yxo” Dohňanský (bass), Martin “Fefe” Žúži (guitar), and Tibor “Tybyke” Szabados (drums). After Ďuďo’s untimely passing, the band chose not to disband but to continue, keeping the story of these Bratislava musicians alive. Peter “Šarkan” Novák and Laco Tvrdý later joined the group, and together they recorded their tenth studio album, Kde je tu láska.
The band’s beginnings are closely tied to the musical inspiration they drew from The Cure, whose sound shaped their early approach. It was this very band that inspired Ďuďo and Yxo to start their own group. The fact that Hex and The Cure will meet on the same bill at Pohoda 2026 adds a symbolic layer to this performance — a celebration of two musical worlds that have influenced generations of listeners and musicians alike.
