"This year’s selection of theatrical performances at Pohoda reflects the situation we’re finding ourselves in Slovakia and Europe. All of the plays and performances are intended to turn into healing medicine. Some rough examinations will be followed by laughter through tears and the gravity of freedom," says the curator of the Pohoda theatre, director Alžbeta Vrzgula. → read more
The National Orchestra of Afghanistan concert will celebrate the power and freedom of music as well. The orchestra is formed by the Afghanistan National Institute of Music students who managed to flee the Taliban regime and moved to Portugal. It also features some of the girls who already played at Pohoda as part of the female orchestra Zohra. This orchestra was founded in 2018 and has been a great influence on Afghan music life since then. Their repertoire features compositions by Western as well as Afghan authors of classical and traditional music. According to the orchestra’s music director, the program for Pohoda will focus mainly on Afghan music. → read more
We conclude the list of foreign names in the Pohoda line-up with a great discovery of the American hip hop scene, the duo They Hate Change. We liked them instantly and Gleb, who will play after them, also confirmed their uniqueness. Dre and Vonne are sound omnivores, lovers of rare and radical sounds. Their work is influenced by bass music variants such as jook (unexpected Gulf of Mexico response to house) and crank, as well as drum’n’bass, post-punk, prog, grime, krautrock, emo, and basically any music genre. → read more
Greatest Hits enchanted us at Pohoda deň FM, where Donny Benét brought them from Australia. They are the embodiment of an ideal festival band—great music, great dances and costumes, and nice people behind the scenes. When we told them that there was a possibility of playing at Pohoda, they did not hesitate—just as they enchanted us, they were thrilled by our audience. A gust of the seventies, psychedelia, surf-rock, and, above all, very catchy rhythms and melodies. This is exactly the kind of the band, music, and people you will fall in love with from the first moment, and so we are happy to have them at the Trenčín Airport. → read more

Bianca Macková aka Blanch will be playing at Pohoda as well. She is coming with the band consisting of Dominik Špuler, Marek Votruba and Jakub Kolesár. Together with band Luvver, they received a grant for music production at Radio_Head Awards back in 2019. It seems the grant was put to good use given their debut Delusion was later nominated in the category of “Debut of the Year” at the 2019 Radio_Head Awards. The recording is a collection of unconventional compositions and imaginative indie-folk sounds. Last year, Blanch released an album titled Veracity, which earned the band a comparison to “Slovakian Cocteau Twins” by Juraj Čurný. Her songs have an alternative-pop sound with elements of melancholia, but she is no stranger to the sound of trap or hip-hop either. Apart from many collabs with the likes of WEN or YOO, for example, she recorded the album Indigo Waters together with rapper and producer Duch last year. → read more
Šukovci from Čierny Balog will be closing the Café Kušnierik program at Pohoda. The band formed around the legendary first violinist Julo Bartoš “Šuko” and became legendary itself thanks to its zeal – their energy will top Čad and Rozpor combined: they usually start playing on their way to the stage and continue off-stage long after the gig. They can shine at folklore festivals in Východná or Detva, Slovak Alternative Summer as well as Pohoda. A perfect band for Saturday night. → read more
