Public Service Broadcasting

Public Service Broadcasting

London-based duo Public Service Broadcasting released their debut in 2013. Last year, they won Progressive Music Awards in the category of best anthem (“Gagarin”). Willgoose and Wrigglesworth combine electronic instruments with guitar, banjo and drums. According to The Guardian, their music “slips between krautrock, synth-pop and cinematic post-rock.” In their own words (with tongue firmly in cheek), they want to “teach the lessons of the past through the music of the future.” They are a great unusual band and we're looking forward to seeing them in Trenčín... → read more

Astronautalis

Astronautalis

“If Beck were a decade or so younger and had grown up more heavily immersed in hip-hop, his debut album likely would have sounded much like Astronautalis,” says Allmusic portal about Andy Bothwell's debut album. This short summary characterizes Andy's genre range that has been blending the best of hip hop, indie rock and punk for more than a decade. Artist that collaborated with band Bon Iver and St. Vincent's producer found inspiration for writing one of his songs in New Orleans and Čadca. → read more

The Prodigy – the uncompromising legend returning to the crime scene

The Prodigy – the uncompromising legend returning to the crime scene

According to Mixmag poll, The Prodigy are the best dance band ever. We have no doubts about that; however, besides the great history and polls, important is also our belief that if any big name is to be repeated at the twentieth edition of Pohoda, the best candidate is this “dangerous” group of three. Here comes the crazy rolling bulldozer of sound where each and every tiny detail is thought of. → read more

Dub Pistols

Dub Pistols

Dub Pistols refer to themselves as the most successful unsuccessful band of all times and the hardest working lazy people in history. The planned huge arrival of the band on the American scene took place in September 2001, and thus remained (as well as anything else at that time) in the shadow of the events of 9/11. The “commercial fail”, however, resulted in gradual gaining of the festival scene, evidenced by a number of nominations and winning the contests assessing best live performances. That is why we cannot miss Baz Ashworth and company at the 20th edition of Pohoda. → read more
