Vitalic LIVE at Pohoda 2019

Vitalic LIVE at Pohoda 2019

Pohoda 2019 will also feature the French electronic music producer Pascal Arbez Nicolas known as Vitalic. Pitchfork compared the quality of his debut, OK Cowboy, to Daft Punk’s Homework or Discovery. In addition to creative music, he won his fans over with live performances which are always enhanced by a great visual aspect, as in the case of the impressive "V Mirror" live show (he’s surrounded by huge electronic mirror panels). In 20 weeks, the author of the catchy tracks "Poison Lips", "Poney Pt. 1 "or" La Rock 01" will present himself in the LIVE version to Slovak fans. → read more

Natalie Sharp (Lone Taxidermist) is coming to Pohoda with project BodyVice

Pohoda 2019 will also see an eccentric UK artist Natalie Sharp (Lone Taxidermist) with her new project BodyVice. According to Noisey, Natalie creates “skewed glam electro pop with a disconcerting and psychedelic edge” and The Quietus describes her approach as “(a)n unholy amalgamation of Grace Jones, Ari Up and John Cooper Clarke with diva-esque wails and jarring harmonies”.  Natalie is an accomplished sound & stage designer, performance artist and make-up artist, or rather, a high-end body painter whose design practices converge around sound and the body in the new project. She describes BodyVice as follows: “Your body is a sensory device, each sense can be manipulated / modulated and played like an instrument. You are both superhuman and human-synthesis. The layers of your anatomy come to represent a process or modulation of how you can be played.” → read more

Lola Marsh to open Pohoda 2019 program on the main stage

Lola Marsh to open Pohoda 2019 program on the main stage

A musical love at first sound: that’s how we could describe the relationship between Pohoda, its visitors and the band from Israel, Lola Marsh. As an unknown band, they played our main stage during their Slovak premiere in 2014. The chemistry worked right away. A tour, several solo concerts as well as other gigs at Pohoda followed. A year ago, they played their biggest show in the Refinery Gallery with a special addition to their setlist: an unforgettable cover version of “Čerešne” that 1,500 deeply moved people sang along with Yael. Since their premiere, Lola Marsh played Slovakia every single year and, this time, it won’t be otherwise. On Thursday evening, they will open the program on Pohoda 2019’s main stage. → read more

The Donny Benét Show Band at Pohoda 2019

During his premiere in Slovakia, he performed solo. During his fall tour, he was accompanied by his brother Dan playing saxophone and the next Pohoda will see him with his band as part of the European premiere of The Donny Benét Show Band. The discovery of Pohoda 2018, Donny Benét, ended his fourth tour on the old continent just yesterday and now returns home with a plan to work on his new album. During his shows, security guys, photographers, stage managers as well as bartenders were dancing. People put on glittery garments their parents used to wear and many items ended up on stage under Donny Benét’s feet. His Slovak fan club currently has more than 500 members. The majority attended one of his four amazing fall shows and the outcome is this cool after movie. Apart from the brilliant moments captured during his tour in Slovakia, you will also learn how a jazzman became the Donny Benét phenomenon. → read more

Pohoda has expanded again – welcome Teodor Matiašovský

Pohoda has expanded again – welcome Teodor Matiašovský

Today in the Trenčín hospital, our Monika brought her first-born son, Teodor Matiašovský, into the world with the assistance of Peter Kaščák. Everything was clear on July 12, 2017, when in a table football tournament even the best champs didn’t stand a chance against the team called Love from Pezinok (formed by Monika Satková and Andrej Matiašovský). The crowd were chanting "Love from Pezinok" but then turned it into shouting "That's fate!" very lively. Ten months later, they first sealed their love in Rača and ten more months later they materialized it in Trenčín. Monika and Andrej, we warmly congratulate you and welcome Teodor. → read more

Čavalenky to perform at Pohoda 2019

Pohoda will feature also rapper Rudolf Danihel, aka Čavalenky, from the Czechia-Slovakia border region. This phenomenon makes you believe every words he says, not pretending anything: everything is based on real grounds. Add an original expression, great flow, and excellent background. The half-Roma artist uses the Záhorie dialect in his work, talking about rough street life, racism, gambling, drugs, indebtedness, and subsequent seizures.  → read more
