Debata Michala Vašečku a Romana Kvasnicu SK
FRIDAY 4:30 p.m. / Orange Foundation’s Optimistan
Roman Kvasnica has spent his entire life working to ensure Slovakia remains a state governed by the rule of law for everyone. He is a man of values who puts the full force of his personality into representing people who have been wronged in Slovakia — often by the most powerful people in the country. He represented Hedviga Malinová after she was attacked by neo-Nazis, whom the very first government of Robert Fico falsely accused of trying to overthrow the government, siding with the attackers instead. He also represented the family of Marek Kaluža, murdered by neo-Nazis in Vrbové, and the Roma from Moldava nad Bodvou who were beaten during a police raid. To this day he represents the family of Daniel Tupý and the mother of Martina Kušnírová. He carries out all of this representation free of charge, as an expression of his civic stance.
Michal Vašečka is a sociologist who applies the same standard to everyone. He is known as one of the sharpest commentators on current affairs in Slovakia.
The discussion will focus on the current situation in Slovakia, as well as how to improve it and how to hold on to a sense of joy in life despite the difficulties.
