Twenty-one-year-old Icelandic singer-songwriter Arny Margret comes from the picturesque Westfjords region. Her indie folk has its own unique sound, but in terms of influences, she is close to artists like Adrianne Lenker, Aldous Harding, Ásgeir and José González.

In her music and lyrics, she paints beautiful yet poignant images inspired by her personal experiences and surroundings. She describes life in an isolated place, surrounded by high mountains that completely block the sun for a few months of the year.

Arny Margret was nominated for Newcomer of the Year at the Icelandic Music Awards 2022 and won Best New Act 2022 at the Iceland Airwaves Plus Awards.

You could also see her at Pohoda 2022. In the meantime, she has released her debut album they only talk about the weather, so you can look forward to her new work in Gregorovce.
