Preparations for the next edition of Pohoda are already in full swing, and one of the most important things at this time of year, in late summer and early fall, is booking performers. Our team has set off on a tour of Europe to attend music conferences, where they will take part in discussion panels and hold dozens of meetings with agents who represent and negotiate performances by world-class musicians.

Pohoda director Michal Kaščák and Barbora Bodnárová, who is in charge of contracts and hospitality for artists, traveled to London on Tuesday. Approximately 1,000 music agents from around the world will attend the International Forum Festival, so our duo has a lot of meetings ahead of them. On Wednesday, Michal also spoke at the IFF in London at a panel discussion on the value of festivals in times of social polarization. 

Paula Poštolková, head of artistic production at Pohoda, traveled to the Ship festival and conference in Šibenik, Croatia. Together with representatives from the Sziget, Exit, Rock for People, and Colours of Ostrava festivals, she will participate in a panel discussion on Saturday about how artists are selected, program strategies are created, and how festivals balance creativity with budgets and audience expectations. 

In the coming weeks, we can look forward to more music conferences and meetings, which we believe will enable us to bring not only big names to Pohoda, but also contemporary, high-quality music.
