Experience a unique musical performance with Los Sara Fontan at Pohoda

Barcelona-based experimental duo, Los Sara Fontan, prefer to create art in the here and now – with violin, keyboard, drum set, and an arsenal of pedal effects. Their music is born and dies right on stage, and this impermanence makes each of their performances an unrepeatable celebration, living on only in the memories of those lucky enough to witness it live.

Sara Fontan and Edi Pou (half of the band ZA!) have been performing together since 2017. From the very beginning, they set out to never release a single album, to constantly surprise, and to always bring something new and unexpected. The unmistakable sound, created live on stage using violin, drums, synthesizers, and effects, makes their performance an exceptional and one-of-a-kind experience.

When they decided to record an album at the end of 2022, no one could believe it. Yet, the recording Queda pendiente is not a summary of their five-year journey, as one might expect, but rather a faithful reflection of what Los Sara Fontan are. They recorded the vibrant, contemporary and absolutely dynamic album live and, of course, with a DIY approach.

They have played over a hundred concerts. In January 2024, they performed at the Eurosonic festival (Netherlands), followed by Sharpe (Slovakia), Fusion Fest, Haldern Pop (Germany), Tangent, Rizoma, Monkey Weekend, Womad (UK), BogaBoga, and many others. They have also toured the UK, Italy, Switzerland, Portugal, Germany, and France. This year, we’ll experience their spontaneity at Trenčín Airport at the Pohoda Festival.

“Fontán juggles all her equipment, bends into impossible positions while playing and does everything with fiery passion. It is endearing to see how the two communicate while playing and enjoy what they do.
