Sonido Gallo Negro is a Mexican band of 9 members playing Peruvian cumbia, which is cumbia mingled with other genres which you probably have not heard of yet (huayno, sonidero cumbia, and boogaloo). Dub Pistols refer to themselves as the most successful unsuccessful band of all times and the hardest working lazy people in history. The planned huge arrival of the band on the American scene took place in September 2001, and thus remained (as well as anything else at that time) in the shadow of the events of 9/11.
