Today, we’re heading to the biggest European showcase festival and conference, Eurosonic. It’s a showcase of new music talents of the old continent, a place for music professionals to meet, and also a presentation of the latest trends and a place to share inspirational ideas in the world of music. Pohoda Team will also attend European Festival Awards 2016 (EFA) for best festivals of the last year. The extraordinary success of Pohoda’s 20th edition was appreciated not only by music professionals but also by a number of voters, which brought a record-breaking number of 4 Pohoda nominations in EFA shortlists. → read more
President Andrej Kiska named twenty recipients of the highest civilian honor. One of the recipients was Michal Kaščák, who was presented The Ľudovít Štúr Order for defending the democracy and its development; for defending the human rights and freedoms and for development of culture. → read more
Jake Bugg, who’s just 22 years old, has three albums under his belt, each made it to TOP 5 on the UK Albums Chart (the debut reached number one). He played his catchy indie-rock tracks influenced by blues at Glastonbury at the age of 17 already. He won NME Award, Q Award and Silver Clef Award and received another 11 prestigious nominations in Mercury Prize, BRIT Awards or Ivor Novello Awards. Last year, he released his third album On My One, whose tracks together with older hits, you’ll get to hear at Pohoda 2017. → read more
Three-times UK DMC champion, JFB, one of the best drummers in the world, Emre Ramazanoglu (Sia, Noel Gallagher, Alex Clare), world beatbox champion, Bellatrix, violinist and saxophonist, Ben Sarfas, UK Slam Poetry champion, Dizraeli, and one of the best MCs in the world, MC LeeN, have joined forces with a beatbox virtuoso, Beardyman, to create a freestyle super group and you will get a chance to see their incredible performance at Pohoda 2017. → read more
Electronic band BEAK> was founded in 2009 by producer Geoff Barrow, bassist Billy Fuller (Robert Plant), and Matt Williams, who was recently replaced by musician Will Young. This year, they recorded the soundtrack to the film Couple in a Hole, they performed at festivals such as Glastonbury and Primavera, and this summer they will play also at Pohoda 2017. → read more
Daily Denník N ranked them among the aces of Pohoda 2015. Milk chief Martin Jenča produced his own “directors cut” spot for their song. Great response to their performance confirms that Ho99o9 overcame all expectations. That is why we decided to make an exception and Ho99o9 will perform also at Pohoda 2017. → read more
Polish singer and producer LASS (Kasia Klimczyk) composes synth-pop songs that feature real stories and unusual sound combinations. She has given dozens of solo concerts and performances at festivals around the world (New York, South Korea, Poland, and Lithuania). LASS won our hearts at Zandari Festa in Seoul, and now she is going to show her specific play with sound, voice, and image also at Pohoda 2017. → read more
Underground band Chór vážskych muzikantov (also known as CHVM) was established in 1980 in the city of Trenčín. The band made Trenčín the centre of Slovak alternative music and helped many other bands, including Bez ladu a skladu. CHVM also assisted the birth of Pohoda and they keep supporting the festival also now – among other things, the company owned by band members sets out festival grounds. This and other bands will commemorate the first year of our festival at Pohoda 2017. → read more
