SATURDAY 8:15 p.m. / Swiss Re NGO Arena
S. Ilina, T. Kopylov, I. Sirota, I. Afanasenko
Sometimes laughter is the best way to get through difficult times. At Pohoda, Úžasný Stand Up will present an evening showcasing some of the finest voices of the contemporary Ukrainian stand-up scene. Expect sharp comedy, self-irony, personal stories and reflections on life between countries, languages and cultures.
The line-up features four distinctive comedians: Sofia Ilina, Ivanka Sirota, Ivan Sharki and Tymofiy Kopylov.
Sofia Ilina, founder of Úžasný Stand Up in Slovakia, is one of the leading figures of the Ukrainian comedy scene. Her bold, honest style tackles sensitive and controversial topics, transforming personal experiences into direct, fearless and deeply relatable comedy. She has performed in six countries and in front of thousands of spectators.
Ivanka Sirota, a Rusyn artist from Mukachevo, combines stand-up, improvisation and physical theatre. Performing in Rusyn, Slovak and English, she explores life between cultures with humour, tenderness and self-irony, turning everyday situations into poetic and absurd stories.
Ivan Sharki, originally from Zaporizhzhia, uses his own insecurities as the foundation of his comedy. His performances balance drama and humour, treating life as a film whose script is always worth rewriting.
Completing the line-up is Tymofiy Kopylov, a Ukrainian comedian based in Bratislava who jokingly claims to be the founder of a brand-new genre: "sit-down comedy." His absurd storytelling, self-deprecating humour and talent for finding himself in ridiculous situations have made him a favourite among Slovakia's Ukrainian community.
Úžasný Stand Up will bring an evening of laughter, openness and shared experiences, welcoming both the Ukrainian community and everyone at Pohoda who enjoys smart, honest and original comedy.
