Tomáš Třeštík: Interview and Meet&Greet CZ
Tomáš Třeštík is a prominent Czech photographer whose name is inseparably linked with distinctive portrait work and powerful visual storytelling. His long-running project “Balkónovky”, in which he photographs dozens of well-known figures and unknown faces alike from his balcony in Prague’s Holešovice district, has become not only his artistic signature but also a reflection of the times and society.
A graduate of the Department of Photography at FAMU, he also works in advertising and documentary work. His style stands out for its authenticity, humanity, and ability to capture the essence of a moment.
In 2025, he introduced the exhibition Máme celý život (We Have a Whole Life), in which he looks back with remarkable openness on three decades of life, artistic work, and inner transformation. Through more than a hundred photographs, he captures the period from 1995 to the present – wild student years, relationships, travels, and family. Through these personal stories, he also inadvertently reflects the changes in Czech society over the past 30 years.
