Sofia Kourtesis

Sofia Kourtesis  PE

Sofia Kourtesis, the Peruvian-born, Berlin-based DJ, producer and activist, will perform at Pohoda 2026. One of the most compelling voices in contemporary electronic music, Kourtesis blends the vibrant rhythms of Latin America with the driving pulse of Berlin’s club culture.

Born in Peru and later moving to Berlin, where she now lives and works, Kourtesis creates music that bridges two worlds: the warm melodic colours of her South American roots and the hypnotic energy of European club music. Her sound moves fluidly between house, techno and organic textures, creating tracks that feel both intimate and euphoric.

She first gained international attention with a series of acclaimed EPs and singles, quickly establishing herself as one of the most exciting new names in electronic music. Her debut album Madres received widespread praise and appeared on end-of-year lists from publications such as The New York Times, Pitchfork and DJ Mag. As a DJ she has performed at major festivals including Glastonbury Festival, Primavera Sound and Green Man Festival, while also touring with artists like Four Tet, Caribou, and Floating Points.

Beyond music, Kourtesis is also a dedicated activist. Inspired by her family’s social engagement, she speaks openly about LGBTQ+ rights, gender equality and access to safe abortions in Latin America. These themes often appear in her music, including collaborations such as Estación Esperanza featuring Manu Chao.

Her DJ sets are known for their emotional intensity and dancefloor power – blending hypnotic rhythms, warm melodies and vibrant percussion into immersive club experiences.

At Pohoda, expect a performance that merges Berlin’s underground energy with Latin American warmth – music that invites both dancing and connection.
