Welcome to America in the 1970s—a decade that gave rise to the myth of the 27 Club, saw women, LGBTQ+ communities and Native Americans reshape society, promised a brighter future through Concorde, and convinced millions that tomorrow would be better than today. Yet it was also an era of paranoia, cults, serial killers and political scandals that shook public trust in the country's highest office.

It was during this decade that the Watergate scandal unfolded and Richard Nixon became a defining figure of American politics—a president long considered the worst in U.S. history. Today, he might only rank second.
