ESET Science: Where Is Slovakia Going?

This discussion connects literature, research and economic data in a conversation about trust, dignity and the idea of a country as a conscious choice. Slovakia is among the European countries with the highest rates of educated people leaving. Yet behind these statistics are real lives, families spread across borders and a society that must decide whether it wants to merely educate talent or also retain it.

Migration is not just the movement of people. It is also the movement of hopes, loyalties and care. The story of Slovak workers in Pittsburgh in 1913 is surprisingly close to the stories of today’s graduates in Berlin or Vienna. What makes a country worth staying in? And how do we welcome those who come to us?
