Džemiaky  SK

A meteor arrived from space, from the planet Džupiter (Djupiter). It broke apart in the atmosphere of Džemeguľa (Djearth) and landed in a field behind the village. From it grew potatoes – half-extraterrestrials. They call themselves Džemiaky (Djotatoes). They preserve their scientific knowledge like jam—inside songs. They perform as a family animated band so you won’t be afraid of them. As the country, such its Gorillaz. We’re excited that this year, they’ll be landing at the Trenčín Airport too, straight into the Family Park.

Džemiaky are an animated band made up of three members. A raw, unpeeled potato sings and plays the guitar. The other potato—a French fry with a broccoli afro—plays the krumplokaster (potato-caster). But the meteorite also hit the forest, bringing to life Breza Zebra, who plays birch drums. When you start playing with food, the food will form a band and start playing songs for you.

This year, they released their debut album V čikčiku. It contains 12 songs and, thanks to new band members, is musically and instrumentally rich—each track is completely different. It guides children through a diverse world of music with trace elements of rock ‘n’ roll, disco, reggae, and country music. It’s perfect for goofing around and dancing, all while providing some food for thought.

Allegedly the first Slovak animated Košice-Prešov-Humenné band of living potatoes, consisting of Džumelec, Luky, and Raptor Koch, plays songs for the whole family. You’ll get a chance to jam with them on Friday at Pohoda.
