Lou Reed!

The opening night of the summer multicultural festival Bažant Pohoda 2012 will belong to one of the biggest figures of music history – Lou Reed. American musician, founder of the cult The Velvet Underground, is one of the respected pioneers of rock music and he’s been on the scene non-stop since 1964. Together with Lou Reed, the legend of the Czech underground The Plastic People of the Universe will be performing as well. “The opening night on the main stage will be dedicated to Václav Havel. He was friends with Reed and he was something like an honorary member of The Plastics. It’s also thanks to people like Václav Havel that free festivals like ours can exist; freedom cannot be taken for granted. We’re sure that this fusion will be an amazing celebration of freedom and Havel would love that,” says Michal Kaščák, the head of festival. For further information see the press release.
